Pool Bath/Powder Room Remodel

Location: Bull Mountain

As you can see in the before pictures, the problem with this bathroom was that it was a bit lackluster and totally builder grade and our clients wanted it to be stunning. We completed an amazing bar across the hall from this bathroom (pictures to come) so our clients wanted the bathroom to be elevated to the same level for themselves and their guests. When discussing the design Dave specifically requested an amazing sink, something kind of modern. Karen wanted it to be beautiful and light. Kim and I know this house very well and with all of the work we do in it we keep an eye on what it is and also toward what it could be. We don’t want anything we do to not fit the architecture and vibe of the home. So we gathered up all of these ideas and added some very unexpected touches, as we are known to do. I happened to come across an inspirational picture of an unusual shower entrance and it got my wheels turning. We know these long-time clients well. We trust each other and have a ton of fun working together. We also know that they have a love affair with travel so we knew they would be game for something special. We also knew that we were working with one of the world's most patient and talented construction professionals, Paul Marto. When we bring him something out-of-the-box he doesn’t even flinch. Enter Cargo Inc., a local specialty marketplace full of really special and interesting items that I HIGHLY recommend you check out! It was there, in their awesome basement, that I found an amazing, teak, Indonesian gate that I thought was perfect. Paul (again, the world's most patient contractor) met me there to see if my idea would work. He, along with his talented team of craftspeople, made sure that it did.

There was so much thought and artistry that went into the design of the shower and this special door. There was also so much thought and, well, physical strength that went into installing the stunning, but VERY heavy, pedestal sink too. Truly, spaces like this just don’t happen without a great design backed by trusting clients and an amazing build team.

Before

Arlene, I wanted to let you know how much we loved working with you and your team and how happy we are with the results. Every one of your team members contributed to making our experience with Lord Design an exceptional one. The fact that you have coordinated such a cohesive team of professionals is impressive…Kudos to you!

As we had worked previously with a designer, whom we trusted and loved for many years, we knew the benefits of good design. However, he decided to move to Thailand, and we were left with a couple of rooms that still badly needed help. We were nervous about reaching out to find a new designer but based on a referral, reached out to Lord Design. We were lucky! Your site visits immediately put us at ease. You are so engaging, efficient, professional, and open to different tastes. (I mean seriously, I am a fan of mid-century modern, in a Beaverton suburban home!) You nailed it! Once we came to your office to ‘see’ the design in 3d, the decision was a no-brainer. We loved your design concepts, colors, and decor. Tasteful, and yet fun and easy going. Exactly what we wanted for our bonus room and upstairs bath. Beautiful design yet casual, kid and nap friendly. Boom!

The follow-through and coordination with the general contractor were seamless. Every detail was thought through. The design was fabulous, and I loved the fact that you worked with us to finalize all the details, including the furnishings and down to the finishing touches. Anita and your team ensured that every item we purchased was flawless.

Wow….just a great experience. So lucky to be able to work with you, Kimberly, and Anita….

Looking forward to future endeavors.
