Laundry Room Revamp

Location: Bull Mountain

We couldn’t upgrade the bathroom right next door to the laundry room and not address the dark, sadness that was the laundry room. It was a bit of scope creep so we did what we could to keep it as minimally invasive as possible. The problem with this space was that it was dark and not at all interesting. Who wants an ugly, dark laundry room!?

We put together a design plan that kept most everything in place but changed it entirely. The magic of paint, wallpaper and expert trades people! The cabinets were painted a fresh white, we added a “picture rail” because it looked like it needed it and wallpapered the ceiling much to our installers' chagrin. We also swapped out the hardware, plumbing fixtures, countertop and window treatments for new, warmer, fresher, more beautiful materials and crowned it all with Karen’s favorite type of chandelier: vintage and gilded.

Before

Arlene, I wanted to let you know how much we loved working with you and your team and how happy we are with the results. Every one of your team members contributed to making our experience with Lord Design an exceptional one. The fact that you have coordinated such a cohesive team of professionals is impressive…Kudos to you!

As we had worked previously with a designer, whom we trusted and loved for many years, we knew the benefits of good design. However, he decided to move to Thailand, and we were left with a couple of rooms that still badly needed help. We were nervous about reaching out to find a new designer but based on a referral, reached out to Lord Design. We were lucky! Your site visits immediately put us at ease. You are so engaging, efficient, professional, and open to different tastes. (I mean seriously, I am a fan of mid-century modern, in a Beaverton suburban home!) You nailed it! Once we came to your office to ‘see’ the design in 3d, the decision was a no-brainer. We loved your design concepts, colors, and decor. Tasteful, and yet fun and easy going. Exactly what we wanted for our bonus room and upstairs bath. Beautiful design yet casual, kid and nap friendly. Boom!

The follow-through and coordination with the general contractor were seamless. Every detail was thought through. The design was fabulous, and I loved the fact that you worked with us to finalize all the details, including the furnishings and down to the finishing touches. Anita and your team ensured that every item we purchased was flawless.

Wow….just a great experience. So lucky to be able to work with you, Kimberly, and Anita….

Looking forward to future endeavors.
