Butlers Pantry Remodel
Location: Bull Mountain
Super, super, dark and sad. There is no better way to describe this room. It’s as if the previous builder was wanting to punish all who entered this space and we just weren’t having it. Karen absolutely craves light and bright, loves birds, the color yellow and vintage chandeliers. Knowing all of this we had our way with this space and made it as happy and well lit as we could.
One of the other design challenges to this home is the extensive use of travertine tile floors circa 1990’s. A beautiful product but incredibly porous so they really showed dirt over the years. One of our trade partners, Alpha Stone, recommended to us a company who could steam clean and seal the floors and grout and it made all the difference in the world. These trade relationships are everything and part of the reason why you pick an established design and build team. They come through with solutions due to their deep bench of trades people. Speaking of great trade partners, Rockwood Cabinets created these gorgeous cabinets and worked in tandem with the electricians to ensure that there is a ton of great light. Kimberly and I brought in beautiful and fun storage solutions to make this space functional and welcoming. We absolutely adore this client and work hard to bring a smile to her face every time she enters. From what we hear, it is mission accomplished.

Arlene, I wanted to let you know how much we loved working with you and your team and how happy we are with the results. Every one of your team members contributed to making our experience with Lord Design an exceptional one. The fact that you have coordinated such a cohesive team of professionals is impressive…Kudos to you!
As we had worked previously with a designer, whom we trusted and loved for many years, we knew the benefits of good design. However, he decided to move to Thailand, and we were left with a couple of rooms that still badly needed help. We were nervous about reaching out to find a new designer but based on a referral, reached out to Lord Design. We were lucky! Your site visits immediately put us at ease. You are so engaging, efficient, professional, and open to different tastes. (I mean seriously, I am a fan of mid-century modern, in a Beaverton suburban home!) You nailed it! Once we came to your office to ‘see’ the design in 3d, the decision was a no-brainer. We loved your design concepts, colors, and decor. Tasteful, and yet fun and easy going. Exactly what we wanted for our bonus room and upstairs bath. Beautiful design yet casual, kid and nap friendly. Boom!
The follow-through and coordination with the general contractor were seamless. Every detail was thought through. The design was fabulous, and I loved the fact that you worked with us to finalize all the details, including the furnishings and down to the finishing touches. Anita and your team ensured that every item we purchased was flawless.
Wow….just a great experience. So lucky to be able to work with you, Kimberly, and Anita….
Looking forward to future endeavors.
