Northwest Elegant Modern
Location: Southwest Hills, Portland, OR
Take a mid-century home that had french country decor and awkward spaces inflicted upon it and make it a light, clean, modern but warm home. As an art collector and with a great aesthetic, our client knew it could be brought back to its clean simple lines and pull your eye back to the amazing view. And that is exactly what we did in this home in the Southwest Hills of Portland.
The home, the view, and her art all served to inspire the design direction. It is the sum of the whole that really shines. The custom cabinetry is fabulous, the remodel was executed beautifully and the client’s appreciation for blending the existing with the new kept the soul in this home. We believe that you should hold on to what is precious and surround yourself with what you love. Your home should nourish you and we help people to fall in love with their homes again. If that is what your end game is with making a change to your home, we can make that happen.

A big thank you to everyone who came together to make this long-distance project possible. Ostmo Construction did the remodel, Rockwood Custom Cabinets did all of the cabinetry, Caesarstone Counters, Kohler plumbing fixtures, and Blackstone Edge Studios are responsible for the amazing photography. Design team speared by Arlene Lord and Kimberly Hodgin. And as always, the key players were our wonderful clients who brought their usual awesomeness to this process!
BEFORE
“Arlene and the team were such a pleasure! This house had some fantastic elements but needed a complete update. They shared my enthusiasm for the character of the home and came up with a floor plan and finishes that honored it. Best of all, they recognized my creativity and encouraged it! The result is not just a beautiful home designed by a fantastic designer, it a home that truly reflects who I am, and that’s a gift.”
